TAI + LEE, architects have been forerunners in the region in advocating sustainable design - energy and environmentally effective strategies - in residential and commercial projects. Many years of observation and experience with these issues afford the firm an understanding of how and when to utilize materials and methods to solve specific energy related problems. TAI + LEE, architects has the knowledge and experience to generate and evaluate sustainable design concepts through LEED™ assessment, computer simulation and life cycle costing. Principal emeritus, Steve Lee, has extensive research and planning experience in high performance sustainable design as a faculty member of the Center for Building Performance and Diagnostics at Carnegie Mellon. He was the project manager of the Intelligent Workplace™. His consulting work with the PA Department of Environmental Protection resulted in a new standard for healthy, flexible, adaptable and energy and environmentally effective buildings in the Commonwealth. He is the director of the Master of Science in Sustainable Design program at the School of Architecture.
