Bakth Residence

Phased renovation and addition to a small 50’s ranch style home built among larger older homes. Stoneclad addition at entry and kitchen enlarged the facade and provided gracious foyer and open kitchen. Two-story addition in rear has master bedroom suite and additional bedroom and bath turning the small modest building into a luxury home.

Addition of great room, masterbath, kitchen, 2nd floor bedroom and bath to a 70-year old residence. Bland and closed interior was opened to backyard with dormer and glass doors leading to a dressy wood deck with graciously descending stair.

An extensive remodeling and addition to a very modest 50s ranch style brick home located on a beautiful rolling hill site. Some design features include a brightly colored kitchen addition that terminates into a breakfast room with a large glass wall with the view of the hills, and a once dark and damp basement that was turned into a bright recreation room by an introduction of an open stairwell and large windows.

Breakfast room/mudroom addition towards backyard without impeding view from kitchen by use of glass wall in addition. Kitchen cabinets were custom made to display various wall paper designed by owner for her business. The addition features a style which blends with the vintage and grace of an early 20th century home.

Outdoor Architecture

Expansion of living space to outdoor can be enhanced greatly by building structures. Blending in with the natural vegetation and terrain were kept in mind while designing these structures.

H. Zeve Residence Poolside Pavilion

Pavilion and on grade deck as part of landscape were designed to enhance the look and use of backyard pool. Pavilion with translucent roof was designed with redwood and commercial skylight glazing to stand on cedar deck built tightly to the ground.

K. Shetty Hillside Deck

Series of free standing decks were designed to blend into an otherwise inaccessible and sloped wooded back yard. All decks are connected with bridges and some of them have covers that can be removed off season.

Dasta Commons

A 2100 SF mixed use building was proposed on the edge of the main corridor of the neighborhood commercial district. The building consisted of indoor parking for tenants, commercial space on the 1st floor with 18 units on the 2nd and 3rd floors. A distinguished rhythm was created on thee long facade in order to retain the old fabric of the street which consists of 2 4-story narrow store front buildings.
